Reclaimed is the second book in the Vistira Trilogy and it will not disappoint you.
Now for the review:
WARNING: Spoiler Alert!
Vistira is a different realm parallel to ours with less than one hundred thousand people. There are no phones, no cars, no TV, etc. As the main character’s best friend Cappy (a.k.a. Catherine) would say, it sounds like Little House on the Prairie; however, Vistira is not quite as primitive. They do have electricity generated by windmills which gives them light at night. So they do have some technology, and it’s a wonderful and beautiful place to live. But the krogs who are creatures, built like a man, with greenish skin and freakishly strong, are planning to rule Vistira. They’ve been in hiding far too long and aims to change that. Filled with resentment and hate, they’re scheming to carry off the women who are at childbearing age, rape them, and build a race of half-breeds. Their leader Dinora is one, and her vision is clouded with revenge against the very people who turned a blind eye to her and denied her the warmth she so desperately craved when she was a young girl. So she will have her vengeance and create others like herself and a world where she can never be ostracized again.
But there’s a problem.
Her name is Annella Derlyn Kir, who is called Annie for short.
Annie is part of a prophecy and seems to be the only one who can stop the krogs from waging war against Vistira. But there is one huge, glaring obstacle she needs to conquer. The object to wield the power to halt these ghastly creatures resides in New York City. In the dimension she was once cast to by means of wicked magic. Annie is unsure she can bend the universe and create a doorway back into that realm. But she must try. The fate of her loved ones and everything dear to her rest in her hands.
Now, this is where the story gets really good, and my love for it grows even more.
Annie, her husband Kellus, and his brother Markum, makes it to New York. Annie is a nervous wreck because she’s afraid, though, it’s been eight months since she’s been gone, in this world it could be eight years. The time between worlds is goofy. However, to her relief she discovers she was only absent for seven days. Meanwhile, Kellus and Markum are wonderstruck by this world . . .
The vehicles.
What are those things?
They’re marvelous.
The buildings that reach up to the heavens.
What magic has made this stuff?
I throughly enjoyed their reaction to everything. I also got a kick out of Cappy’s attitude towards Annie’s explanation on why she disappeared and where she has been. Their conversation is hilarious, and when Cappy sees Markum . . . well, it’s great. She cracks me up and besides Cora (Annie’s younger sister), Cappy is one of my favorite characters.
The suspense grows from here and gets intense throughout the rest of this tale. I loved how it ended and how the author took care of each important character in a flawless, satisfying way. This is a wonderful book with a resounding message: love is the most magical thing in the universe.

Today I’m featuring Revenge from Mars by Todd Embry, which sounds like a very interesting book btw.
Blurb:
In the future, Earth is controlled by one man, Supreme Leader Jeremiah Johnson. Fueled by a desire to control the world, Jeremiah Johnson infiltrated himself into the mega-churches and led a campaign of suppression and subversion that resulted in one Church of Enlightenment, with himself as leader. The political influence of the Church extended into the political arena where Jeremiah Johnson was also elected Supreme Leader of the World. With both the power of the church and the government in his hands, nothing stands between Jeremiah and world domination.
Henry Thomas’ parents were on a mission to uncover evidence that would undermine the doctrine that is the foundation of the Church of Enlightenment. Ten year old Henry watched as his parents were deemed heretics and violently murdered by a death squad of Church fanatics. Captured by fanatics himself, Henry is sent to a Church orphanage to be reprogrammed. After six years of captivity he manages to escape and begin a life on the run. He meets the love of his life, Annie Pearl, who shares his hatred of the oppression that has created a world of extreme wealth and extreme poverty. When Annie is murdered for her outspoken views, Henry’s life is set on a course of revenge and hatred. His mission to destroy Supreme Leader Johnson will take him all the way to the Martian deserts surrounding the new Mars colony. On Mars he hopes to find the proof his parents were seeking, the evidence that will topple an empire and exact revenge for the murder of those he loved.

About the Author
Todd was born a navy brat in Sasabo Japan in 1962. After living in many different places, his family finally settled down in the small town of Fort Pierce Florida, where his father taught physics at the local college. A bit of a wild and rebellious youth, Todd graduated high school, just barley. He followed in his father’s footsteps and joined the navy.
After a knee injury ended his naval career early, Todd returned to Ft Pierce resuming his wild ways. In desperation his parents sent him to stay with his Grandmother in Scotts Corner Kentucky, hoping some of the local values, hard work, unconditional love of family among them, would rub off.
It did. Todd returned to his family in Ft Pierce, found a job with Bellsouth as a telephone operator and 15 years passed. During that time, Todd met the love of his life Linda at his 31st birthday party. After an intense romance, they were married one year later. However, Linda came as a package deal. She had a daughter named Corri whom Todd came to love as his own daughter. By mutual consent, Todd adopted Corri, making them one happy family at last.
Todd and Linda took out a second mortgage on their house and bought a flower shop, Linda’s lifelong dream. And a good thing they did, because after 15 years of service and 3,000,000 successfully answered calls with a 98% accuracy rating, Bellsouth downsized and closed the office Todd worked in. After recovering from back surgery to correct a ruptured disc, Todd tried his hand at the culinary arts and graduated from Le Cordon Bleu in Miami in 2005. This culminated with a chef’s position at the Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach, a 5 star resort.
During his time at culinary school, his English professor, a former college level creative writing teacher, gave Todd some advice, "You should try writing a book," he said. It was some time later that Todd began his first book Revenge from Mars.
Todd now works full time at the flower shop with his wife Linda and their daughter Corri, and he's finishing his second novel in his spare time.

Hey you guys! The Kindle version of The Devil’s Third is live.
Woot!
Here’s what some readers are saying on Amazon about The Devil’s Third:
Rebekkah Ford has done an astounding job of wrapping up her series. This was by far my favorite book, I wanted to stay in it much longer than I did. I can get so lost in the world the author creates. The descriptions are so well done I can easily picture everything in my mind’s eye. To me that is the basis of a good book, being able to be in the story itself. My only issue is….I really do want more, my mind can see so much for these characters still. I recommend this book to everyone, it is a fantastic journey of friends and the things that happen in their lives.
The relationship that Carrie & Tree, Paige & Nathan share are so special it warms the heart just to read about them. No matter what happens they have each other’s backs even to the point that they will put themselves in danger. They have to travel a lot of miles to take care of Paige’s being the key, and although they are in danger at all times they stride forward. The absolute beauty of the scenery makes a wonderful impact as they wander through the caves. Rebekkah proves in this book that she is a master wordsmith and I will willingly absorb her words. Definitely a 5 star read!!

Wow...this book...this series.
I love the characters, the relationships they have, and the dynamic they create together. Carrie and Tree are absolutely amazing and I really hope the author creates a spin-off to tell their story.
This book wraps up everything, and threw in quite a few surprises as well. I was so not expecting The Devil's Third explanation! Shocker!
Rebekkah Ford is an amazing author and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.
*******
I also received the following testimony that will go on the back of the paperback cover when it’s published in that format:
"The Devil’s Third beautifully wraps up this haunting series of friendship, love, grief and evil. Mrs. Ford successfully writes three dimensional characters that become people you root for the entire time." ~ Lori Lesko-Author of Diamond City A Screenplay

Eeeep! :)
Here’s the blurb:
The Exciting Continuation Of The Beyond the Eyes Trilogy.

So after all this time, I'm a pretty crappy writer.
I have one book published but out of print, one coming out soon, and a bunch half written (when you have eternity, where's the reason to rush?). I've been favorably reviewed by horror greats like Nancy Kilpatrick, and my how-to-write-horror articles have been quoted in scholarly (aka community college freshmen's) papers.
I enjoy the occasional Bloody Mary, although a Bloody Kathy or Susan will suffice.
Mostly, I just try to keep a low profile so people don't figure out who I REALLY am.
